Profile
Committed to Knowledge. Driven by Impact.
Passionate about clinical excellence, research and advancing dermatology through education and innovation.

Dermatology, to me, is a specialty of detail. A subtle change in colour, texture, pattern, or distribution can completely change a diagnosis and often, a patient’s confidence as well. That combination of clinical observation, procedure and aesthetics is what drew me to the field and continues to shape the way I practise. I am Dr. Richin Anna Johnson, a dermatologist, clinical researcher and academician with interests spanning acne and acne scarring, procedural dermatology, inflammatory dermatoses & hair disorders. My academic work has grown naturally out of the questions I encounter in clinical practice: Can we treat this better? Can outcomes be improved? Is there something here worth studying, presenting or publishing? That curiosity has taken my work beyond the clinic into research, scientific meetings, teaching and international academic platforms. My academic journey has been marked by national and international recognition through competitive scholarships, research awards, grants, scientific presentations, and professional leadership roles. More than individual accolades, these opportunities have allowed me to present my work on wider platforms, contribute to peer-reviewed research, and engage more deeply with the academic dermatology community. But what excites me most is what comes next. I want my work to sit at the intersection of good clinical dermatology, thoughtful research, procedural innovation and collaboration with each one making the other stronger. I see dermatology as a field where observation becomes insight and insight becomes better care.

Philosophy
The art of dermatology lies in seeing what is easy to miss.
Skin often reveals its story through the smallest details like a shift in colour, texture, pattern or change.
Learning to recognise those details with precision is what continues to shape the way I practise dermatology.
